| Well, I'd like to say I'm back on xanga to do it right. I can do pics now. So, hopefully it will be more fun. So much has happened since my last post. I think my last post was the day my mom had her surgery. She is finished with her chemo and radiation. Her greatest side effects were tiredness and fatigue. She did lose her hair, which is coming back nicely. She has a number of tests again this month. Continue to pray for her. She would testify that God has been so good through this whole process. I also enjoyed my trip to Colorado. Thanks Vernon and MaryAnna for all you did to make my time worthwhile. I got to do some sightseeing, worked with Vern a couple days, and spent a several days skiing. Also, spent some time just hanging out at the house with Verns' kids. I am looking forward to Quizzing season. This year I am coaching a Junior I team - Truman Byler, Shaina Byler, Quinton Lapp, David Yoder, and Andrew Miller. I think they'll do real well. They have a ton of potential. I just need to get it out of them. The passage this year is taken from portions of Genesis.
Here is a pic of mom in mid-December:
Well, I was going to post more pics from Colorado, but I cant for some reason. Maybe I will later.

| Well, all Super Bowl weekend was the last time I updated. I do not think blogging is quite as big as it was shortly before I got my xanga. I guess I shouldn't speak for others. I thought I would keep a site up. It's harder than I thought. So much has happened since my last post. It's not all been good. Sometimes it's hard to believe that God is good all the time and that He is in control. Mom has cancer for those of you that don't know. She had her surgery today. We thought they would only have to take out the lumps and she would have to do radiation. Today, the surgeon found cancer in 2 lymph nodes. She took out more than she would have had to. It concerned the surgeon because the blood runs through the lymph nodes. We all know that blood runs all through your body. So we don't know where the cancer could be in mom. This means she will need chemo instead of radiation. We continue to covet and appreciate your prayers. One more time I want to thank Yvonne, Lauren, and Brandon for all they put into quiz season. I trust they will reap rewards that will last a lifetime or longer. They also blessed me in a lot of different ways. One thing they taught me was how to be satisfied when you have done your best and to have fun even when the results may not necessarily be in your favor. I could not have asked for a group that cooperated better. Perhaps on a more selfish note they were a social blessing to me. Maybe that's kind of weird, but it gave me something to relate to people about. Thanks guys for all the memories.Well, goodnight and see ya'll fellow xangaers later.

| Why does everyone always have to start with apologies for why they haven't posted for so long? Anyway, what's new? Well, I'm down in VA w/ my friend Tim for the weekend. Last night we got in on the tail end of a taffy pull after I finally got down here. It was put on by the Blue Ridge youth group. I actually didn't have to think to much about how to pull. Was fun. I don't know what else we'll do yet. Looks like I'll stay for a Super Bowl party some people are going to have down here. Enjoyed our first quiz meet of the year even if the results were not what we all would have liked. I hope helping young people memorize scripture can be one of the most rewarding things I will ever do. I hope it will benefit them and me when we need to stand againt temptation or give an answer for what we believe. I guess those are the most important results of quizzing. Also, enjoyed watching God work last weekend at our ordination. I'm sure God will continue to use Bro. Richard. He has already been such a blessing to us. See ya'll next time. Travis | | |

Well, I havn't been on here for so long. A long time ago someone even commented to me that I should update again. Sometimes I just get frustrated with how life seems to go then things that should be important to me just don't get done.
Way to go EAGLES on coming back to win the division outright from the Cowboys. A couple weeks ago I had a guarantee from someone else that the Cowboys could not lose to the Eagles. Well, as we all know, the Eagles beat them in nearly every statistic including score. Then yesterday the Cowboys lost to the DETROIT LIONS. And, by the way, the Eagles back-ups beat the Falcons first string. I think the playoffs are going to be a lot of fun. What a first-week matchup for the Eagles. They play the NY Giants who just win enough not to get their coach fired. The best thing the Giants quarterback has going for him is his last name. He's going to be ducking all over the place when the Eagles defense comes blitz'in from all over.
On a more serious note - how much fun was that last night at the Watch Night Service??? Thanks youth committee that was a great format with the games first and all. The other thing was our youth guys Sunday School Class almost got humorous as we discussed humility. Thanks Deaniel for reminding us to be mindful of our passions because that's what people remember us by.
Some things I want to do better in the new year or look forward to in the new year include: reading my Bible thru cover to cover, continuing to memorize Acts 1-8, my quiz team, get a digital camera so I can put pics, on xanga, disciplining myself in physical exercise, and looking forward to seeing what else the Lord has in store for me. That last thing requires movement on my part. Why is that always the hard part???
Well see ya'll till next time. It won't be so long.

| Well, I guess I'll post about a test of character I've been experiencing since last Saturday. Many of you know I enjoy hunting. Saturday I was home alone and looked forward to setting up my archery stuff, getting my hunting license, and spending the evening in the woods. Finally, at the archery shop I got a few things fixed and pitched my old hunting license on the counter. I was expecting the man to take it, get the info off the back and in a little bit I'd be outta there. Well, it didn't quite go that easy. The man behind the counter informed me that I had to have my hunter safety card. I began to get a little upset because I've probably gotten my new license using my old one for 10-12 years. I had NO idea where my card was. I was not upset at the man, but at the fact that it was Saturday and I had no chance to get the card that day which meant no license. DNREC knew a lot of people where getting their license this way. Why couldn't there have been a public announcement somehow or something??? I went home and after trying in vain to find a website where where I could print out a duplicate I spent the evening doing my laundry. Many other states have the option to print a new one out online. I decided to try to maintain a good attitude and just call DNREC on Monday. Explained my problem to the lady and gave my suggestion about being able to print out a new one online. She promtly informed me that that would cost an extreme amount of money and no other state offered the online service. She told me to get a new card I would have to call the hunter safety headquarters in DE. I gave them a call and tried to get them to fax me a copy so I could go ahead and get my license. Then they could mail me the real thing. THEY COULDN'T DO THAT EITHER. They said they could mail it to me or I would have to come up and get it if I needed it right away. I told them to just mail it. I still don't understand why it has to be so hard. Was I just being tested? I hope I passed. It would have been easy to lose my cool. I just like things to be simple and easy. Isn't our government here to serve the people?
